YT Policy on adding music to monetized videos

I'm thinking of adding music to some of my commentaries and intro/outro but I was wondering what the YouTube policy is on this? I monetize some of my videos but YouTube has allowed some and not others when the content has been the same (CoD gameplay mostly) so now I am here asking for some clarification on YouTube policy. Because of this past activity, I was wondering if I would get the same thing when I add music. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Has to be uncopyrighted music, you can find some pretty good songs though haha

You need the artists permission to use the music in the videos. Try googling "royalty free music". A lot of sites you have to pay for the rights, but there are some that are free. A really good free website is incompetech.com

Always remember to give credit in the description!

How do I determine this and I'm assuming I should contact the artist as well before using? Also do you have any sites?
Type in uncopyrighted music into YouTube then just download it and use it, that's what people like the yogscast do and also Ksiolajidebt.

That website is filled with free to use music for monetized videos. Also check out: http://youtube.com/Th3MusicStuff
That channel has a bunch of great tracks that are free to use. Make sure you link them with credit in your description if you do use their music.
