YouTubing and Working a job? Help?

I work full time so I feel your pain. I don't go into work until 10:30 or 11 so I usually record before work and edit either at work or when I get home. Sometimes I'll just do it all in one sitting if I'm not working that day. If you don't upload that often, just save it for your days off.

EDIT: you have 5 uploads in 7 months, I think somehow you'll find time :)

As far as I know, almost everybody here has a regular job in addition to YouTube. You must take care of the job that is paying the bills first but with all of your spare time, you should be focusing on growing your channel. That includes replying to comments on your videos, not just making new videos. Having your privacy settings to allow your posts to appear in your subscribers feeds is just as good as making videos and promoting them.

On the note of commenting, in your spare time, it is a good idea to watch similar channels and comment in their videos so that people become aware of you and might possibly come check out your channel. I'm no saying to post "come check out my channel". I'm saying to post some constructive commentary regarding their video so that people take notice of your comment.

That means during lunch and break, you are watching other videos and commenting, not just chatting with friends in the lunchroom.

I make videos either when I have and idea, and have some free time. I started thinking of it as a job but then I realized....I'm not getting paid that much, especially as a creator x partner. I try and stick to the 2 video a month rule, but other then that I just record when everything aligns with my schedule.

Yeah me and my vlogging mate have school and work so we only have weekends, just cram record, hopefully you'll be able to make YouTube your job one day. Good luck!

How do you do it?

I just recently got a job waitressing. They have me on tuesday, wednesday, friday and Saturday nights. I want to continue making videos, but I'm not sure how to even work this. haha

If you do this- what works for you? Do you make a schedual or do you do it on your free time? Any advice?

There is nothing wrong with recording videos when you can and then uploading them on your schedule. I do the news on my channel, but sometimes I have to record a video the night before and set it to go public on my scheduled video day at my preferred time.

Just because you have an upload schedule doesn't mean you need to record and edit the same day.

You can fit, I promise. Just stick to it!

I have a job and attend university full time. I usually record in the mornings before work or school then edit at night since I don't find nighttime ideal for shooting due to the limited lighting. On my days off I try to cram as much shooting as possible and then I'll edit whatever footage I have throughout the week. I don't have a fixed schedule since things come up, but I sort of plan my week to include some 'youtube' time.

CristyTango how did you do it befor you got this job? did you went to school or something like that?

i work from monday - friday 7am till 4 / 5 pm and make the videos after work. somedays i'm too tired to film and edit so i film on one day and the other i edit the video :)

I work at McDonalds where I get lot of shifts, go to college full time and make videos. Its hectic but I just give myself an hour breather every so often and that helps me a lot :) Hope it works out well
