Taking over the world... ...one kid at a time!
[RANT ON]
Unless you're a pop star, an expensive Hollywood movie trailer, an insurance commercial, a TV talk show host, or one of the few of YouTube's "annointed ones" (the Green brothers, Lily Singh, Grace Helbig, Matthew Santoro, Hannah Hart, Tyler Oakley, etc.) (no hate for them, just bafflement as to why), you'll never see your own videos under YouTube's "Trending".
Has anyone figured out what mysterious force drives the videos that are placed there? It can't be views, because many are actually not the highest view-getting channels (that is, until the video is placed in "Trending"). You'll certainly never see family-product-oriented content video there, such as toy unboxings, unless of course it's something that one of the above people came up with (Ellen Degeneres talks to cute kids, etc.)
What the heck does "trending" even mean? Has YouTube ever explained this mystery feature?
