Youtubers who say "Hey guys"

I try not to say hey guys during my normal videos and just introduce myself. However whenever I'm filming on location (like at a con or something) I tend to say 'hey guys' or 'alright guys', like it just comes out. I try hard not to say it cause I know when I edit all those snippets together it's going to seem like I'm saying 'Hey guys' every few minutes.

Got nothing wrong with "Hey guys" personally as I'm one of them.

What does gripe me though is people that shout "LET'S GO!" if you're a gaming youtuber, you'll know what I mean :thumbsup2:

I say hey guys in every intro because I personally think it just sounds more friendly than getting right to the video. At the end of video sometime I say bye not all the time I just usually end with if you liked this video give it a like and then it goes right to my outro with a background and it music playing at the end with video links.

I agree. It sounds kinda weird to just jump right on topic without some sort of intro or greeting.

I've felt this too and I think one of the reasons why some people are turned off certain intros is a psychological stigma that can happen when the Youtuber assigns a name or word to his audience. (Example: Beautiful Mangos (God bless IronMango))

Personally, I don't like to be thrown into a crowd with a label and the Youtuber could have the best of intentions behind this. If I really dig into and explore my reasons for feeling this way, it's that I like to feel like a unique and distinct individual, not an indistinguishable member of a large group with a title that sounds cheesy to begin with.

I never assign any sort of "catchy" or cheesy title such as "llamas, biscuits, or something-army" to my audience for the simple reason that it can come across as patronizing. I just say "hello lads, it's Sibernethy!"

It's simple and pretty neutral, yet down-to-earth. It doesn't assign any sort of presumed identity to the audience.

I say "Hello ladies & gentleman..."

Otherwise I'm not bothered by the greetings as long as it's not a greeting asking me to subscribe or like the video before it has even reached the core content of the video.

I think as a youtuber you get into a routine because it's easy to get through the introduction. I normally say 'hello everyone and welcome back to the Adams eats kitchen' but I mix it up sometimes with something else. It doesn't bother me that others do it at all, I mean they do it on tv as Well, especially morning tv breakfast shows. It's a more polished delivery but the effect is the same.
