YouTubers Quitting

I'm not speaking about any channels in particular but it takes a lot of effort to get a channel growing. Once the ball is rolling though, it doesn't necessarily take as much effort as before.

Let's say that you're uploading 4-5 videos a week and you get to the point where you're earning $2,000 a month. You're not necessarily going to earn more by continuing at that pace. A schedule of 2-3 videos a week could possibly keep the same growth.

As to some people seemingly taking long breaks, same deal. It gets tiring to keep up the pace and if they aren't seeing enough earnings considering the amount of time they invest, they have to move on to other projects.
 
eh... I'll try to keep it going as long as I can... but eventually a time consuming hobby will become just that.... a time consuming hobby and life might make me too busy to keep going.
 
Sometimes larger channels get burnt out like the smaller channels, it happens to everyone. When one door closes, another one always opens, so after awhile you could find another great channel that's growing. YouTube is like time, always marching on & always changing.
 
None of mine have quit, but their quality has certainly dived. Shane Dawson should enter the Olympics in the category of shark jumping, I don't know what the f**k happened to the quality of his videos.
 
Yeah, its sort of sad when youtubers discontinue what they had been doing or even completely stop. For example, one of my favourite vloggers, BertieBertG recently stopped vlogging to focus on making short films, but times change and people move on, and I suppose the audience eventually have to as well. Just like books, there will always be a last page in a series, a last episode of a TV show or a final sequel in a film series, everything, even youtube videos have an end :(
