YouTube Website Verification

Hello,

So recently I bought a domain, "chocants.co.uk", there's really no point in visiting the page there is practically nothing on it, except a "Coming Soon" image. Anyway, I remembered there was some verification thing via YouTube to do with having a website and uploading a .html to it.

After finding this via YouTube Settings => View additional features => Advanced then it says "Associated Website" and I followed the instructions on screen. However, I'm curious to know if anyone knows what this really does for my YouTube channel?

Indeed, I thought I'd do it anyway, seeming as it doesn't cost me anything just wondered if anyone knew the benefits.

It helps verify your channel. Nothing really super about it. You know that little check by peoples names? It helps with that.

Ah, well, thanks for clearing that up. No harm in leaving it there I guess, I mean, I'm not going to get that check anytime soon, if ever, but still

It allows you to link your website in the annotations. There is also one that links it to google+ which gives it a higher rating in googles search results. Been awhile and I can't remember if its the same one. I know i've done both though. Takes a few days for it to link if I recall
