Youtube video editor

So our comps are near death now, the slightest touch makes them crash, so we decided to skip all the camtasia and movie maker mumbo jumbo and just flat out put our video files onto youtube and edit them there directly.

Man, does this take forever. First off, since these are 20 minute files from my HD camera, having the files themlseves upload to Youtube take almost half a day (or at least overnight). Once I finished editting them the way I wanted, I press the button to get it started and the video is considered private as it's processing.

And that's it. It's stuck processing and I can't even edit the thumbnail since the video hasn't processed yet. The thing is, there's no percentage counting down or minutes estimated. It's just 'this video is being processed' and it's been like that for the last hour or so with no change.

Has anyone else editted videos with Youtube's own video editor? Does it usually take this long? If I leave it overnight should I expect the video to actually be done tomorrow?

I personally have tried and it just doesn't feel as powerful or as smooth as a computer editor. That's my personal preference though.

It was easier once I got the hang of it. It's kinda like movie maker, it just looks different so I have to get used to how it is. The killer is just how long it takes to upload the raw videos to youtube and then to process the finished editted video.

I used YouTube video editor the first time I tried to edit. I remember it did take forever just to upload some videos!
Hopefully your computer gets fixed soon!
