YouTube Video Ads

Pay for ads to promote my channel.
Depends on what you expect from Youtube ads.

If you want to pay 0.01/0.02 cent for each cent for every viewer, then you've found the right opportunity.

If you want to grow your channel and gain subs, then this is a terrible deal.

I've thrown some earned money into the Youtube ads and what did I get? some hundreds views; 0 subs; 0 people looking at other video. For me (and most of the people who tried that) it was terrible.

Thanks, I looked on your channel and see you only started it in January. You have done very well for yourself in little time. Any tips Squeal Cat?

Thanks. I don't have much other tips then what you could find on this channel. I was very lucky in the beginning, something happened to my first video which was the kickstart of my channel.

But what I do is try to find a way into the high rankings of Youtube, but that's very hard with videos with low audience retention. I've been targeting a niche where sometimes people are able to find videos with. Not-too-popular songs combined with cats, somehow sometimes people are looking for that. Trying aiming for high Youtube rankings means you are more findable (through search or through Suggested videos)

Furthermore spamming in communities like Facebook and Twitter (they call it promoting here), but that's grinding your way into more views. Trading your time for x-amount of views.

So my tip will be: Try aiming for high audience retention!

Thanks for the advice Squeal Cat!
I wrote a very detailed thread about paying for ads to promote a channel search for "AdWords advertising" you should be able to find it.
I would start off with like a $2 just so you can adjust and learn about how to use adwords, but to get proper results you need to pay atleast $10. You will get lots of views but they don't turn into subscibrers.
