YouTube unfair to smaller channels?

They should probably have some of the big channels advertised... then a totally and completely random channel, and then 'most recently uploaded' channel. It would at least give someone who just uploaded something a shot at being on the front page.

Youtube recommends more small channels to me (under 200 subs) than large ones-which is quite surprising since they would obviously make a ton more money by recommending larger ones. Youtube isn't out to make life hard for small channels. They are there to make money and you need to realize that they'll make a lot more money by recommending a large channel than a small one. They don't owe you anything and you shouldn't expect them to promote you. If it happens, consider it a bonus, but if you're depending on it to make a living, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

The whole point of the front page is to show off the videos that are trending! It takes a good video to trend YouTube doesn't hand pick what videos go on the front page it's all about how many views it gets in a certain amount of time after uploading. This is easier for bigger channels because they have more subscribers. From a viewer point of view I would prefer to watch higher quality videos from the larger channels.
