Learn how to edit. And I don't just mean learning the basics. I mean really learn how to use whatever editing program you're using. If someone came to me and said they were starting a channel I'd tell them to spend the first two weeks taking online course (lots of them are free) to learn how to use iMovie, Final Cut, or Premiere. Personally I like Final Cut but anyone of them works well.
yeah, i personaly prefer vegas pro 13 and i like it and i try to learn new stuff about it when ever i need to :-)

What are you using to record? I use camtasia for recording and editing, but I want to use Vegas to edit now.
