Youtube SEO - 720p vs. 1080p

I'm actually kinda hooked on 1080p now! I've figured out how to render 2x as fast so i've cut out that time.. Thank-you though, I really do appreciate it!
 
Think about it for just a quick second, you go to YouTube and you have the choice of watching a music video in 1080 and 720... which one will you pick? 1080, unless your connection sucks.

I think the real value add for doing 1080 is more branding based than ranking based, however, based on Google's latest updates, and according to my belief all along... branding is as important as any other element in marketing... go for 1080, or lose views to the guy that does :)

I've heard lots say yes, 1080p videos will naturally rank higher than 720p.. Then i've had just as many people say HD is HD - It doesn't matter.

I ask because the videos we make are all digitalized (we promote free music for artists, without charge) and not recorded naturally. It would take far less rendering/upload/design time to do videos in 720p.

Wondering if anyone else has opinions, thank-you!

I've only read that 1080p ranks higher. Not that HD ranks higher. iF that's true I'm not certain...
 
Always confused with it but once I made a little test uploaded 1 1080p and 720p and played them there aint much of a difference than few less pixels in fullscreen from 1080p, in my opinion 720p is all you need lol
