Youtube SEO - 720p vs. 1080p

Hey y'all!
I've been searching around online to no avail, i'm wondering if there is any SEO (Search Engine Optimization) benefit of uploading in 1080p vs. 720p.
I've heard lots say yes, 1080p videos will naturally rank higher than 720p.. Then i've had just as many people say HD is HD - It doesn't matter.

I ask because the videos we make are all digitalized (we promote free music for artists, without charge) and not recorded naturally. It would take far less rendering/upload/design time to do videos in 720p.

Wondering if anyone else has opinions, thank-you!

I do 720p, because its less stress on my comp, quicker render, quicker upload + most games these days I can only run like 10 fps at 1920x1080 :p

Due to how I make my videos I could design on a 1920x1080 canvas. I've thought of doing this but the file size would be ridiculously big and I don't want to spend 300MB+ on one video.

My videos usually come out at 90MB - 140MB. And I'm ok with that. In the far future I might start uploading in 1080p, but not yet.

There is none to my knowledge. I do know that if it's at least 720p, it gets labeled "HD", and that makes people more likely to click it due to higher quality, but I think the only benefit to 1080p is that it looks nicer, and is more likely to create audience retention. That's all I know.

With a 0.3MB upload speed, 1080p 20 minute videos take me 20-25 hours each to upload. I therefore thought screw that and did 720p and that's the lowest you should go, any lower and people will get angry if they don't have the option of HD

Looks like we have the same division here as I witnessed in my online searches.. hmm
If the only argument for 1080p is that it looks nicer (both on the eyes, and in the options) then I'll have a hard time sticking with it.. It quite literally doubles the time cost per video.
If it helps ranking even in the slightest then i'll stick with it.. If not then I don't see any real benefit for the time involved.
(If I ranked even one video spot ahead because it's in 1080p i'd continue to do it as such..)

Thanks for everyones' opinions and replies, truly appreciate it!

I never watch videos in 720p or 1080p, so I figure there is no point wasting my internets with 1080p.
I have like 0.3mbit/s too, :(

i asked one of my partner reps this question, and his response was:
"SEO is based off of user input in the description and tag fields nothing else. A videos popularity or subsequent virility is based on factors like proper social networking strategies and creating unique and original content that other people enjoy enough to share with their friends".
