I think having a friendly rivalry with someone on YouTube is a cool idea. Of course not in terms of who has more subs or views, but who makes the funnier/more entertaining videos. It'll push the both of you to do better, thus doing better for the both of your channels in the long run. Think of it like Triple H and The Rock going against each other, in a legit rivalry, trying to get that top spot while Stone Cold was away for a year. They pushed each other to do better.
