Youtube removed video "location" ?

Uploading a new video and I notice that "location" is no longer there in Advanced Settings..
I always filled this in since our videos are from all over, but I always wondered how important it was and what it was for..
I guess it wasnt that important afterall..

Not many people cared at all.
I used the feature a lot and will miss it. It still stays for old videos, but for new uploads it's gone. No more chance of your video appearing in Google Maps.

I was away from YouTube for a week and I noticed the video location feature has returned. Now I can geotag my videos again. Seems it was only temporarily removed.

Not sure if it helps my videos or not, but I add the location anyway. I used to have some very old videos, which I didn't exactly remember where they were shot, but with the video location, I found them fast.

My camcorder has GPS positioning, but I disabled it to save the battery, since YouTube wasn't using that metadata.
