Youtube/Real Life Balance?

I have no balance at the moment, still figuring it out. Either I get videos out in a timely fashion and nothing gets done offline, or I get tons done offline and no YT. Think I'm starting to get there with bulk filming and basically deciding to no do things like housework until after the video is done. Think of YT as large pebbles and the chores as sand. If you fill a bottle (your time) with sand, you can't fit all the pebbles in the remaining space. Put the pebbles in first and the sand will happily fill the space left to it.

Hey everyone,

I've been struggling recently with the balance of working life and tending to my YouTube channel - I find myself at work all day and most of the evening (My work has long hours) and I find I don't tend to have a lot of time for YouTube - Which does upset me to some level. I find on my days off I'm doing housework or running errands and I don't have a lot of time left to make videos and content. I'd rather not make content late at night, as a lot of my channel is singing based, and living in a block of flats means I prefer to keep quiet at night for the neighbors sake.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks on getting a good work/youtube balance and how you deal with getting the right balance?

Thanks <3

This is something I have found difficult myself as I work more than 40 hours per week ontop of everyday things similar to yourself. I've found that when I do get free time I record multiple vids in a day it really helps me to stay on track. I also have a running list of video ideas I can go to whenever i'm not feeling very creative and just make something from that.

Welp.. nah i don't really have a tip or trick for that i just wanted to say that i'm in the same boat with you. Its quite difficult to have a job + time-consuming hobby or a possible side career whatever you want to call it. Maybe... don't clean the house on your day off leave it looking like trash for that weekend and pre-record a few videos to upload whilst having the ideas for them before? Then next weekend you can clean double but you'll already gonna have a pre-record video to post. Lol that i don't know i'm bad at these cuz i'm not good at balancing real life with youtube either.

lol i feel you. Let me tell you, just squeeze one out when you can, something is better than nothing, atleast once a week, or more and that's even better. I have a full time job and a 1 year old, so xD real hard to get anything done. im actually managing to get 1 out a day. That's only because I have had plenty of practice with just the whole process of recording/editing,uploading bleh bleh seo thumbnails. I wish you luck!

I definitely know your situation. I work Monday-Friday, 7-3, but since I am in the military, we could stay as long as they need us, I could get deployed, or whatever the mission dictates. But since I don't have a family (of my own), I keep my schedule at once a week for now until I can get into the rhythm of producing maybe 2-3 videos per week. Recording to me is honestly the easy part, the video editing takes SO long!

I take 8 hours nap, then I start overthinking, so instead of overthinking I distract my concentration to YOUTUBE. It works like this for me. Even though when I am busy, I want to do something that I enjoy

I can relate big time! I have a gaming going channel but it is hard to keep up at times. lucky for me i have been able to live stream when i do not have time to edit. Maybe that is something you can try? set up a live stream it is also a great way to meet people and get new subscribers.
