YouTube Notification

I just went and checked my notifications and there were none.
Most of the time when I check my notifications there are none.

I get super excited because I don't get comments often -- even hate comments -- and I always get really hopeful that it's someone commenting on one of my videos. Shortly followed by disappointment, usually, as I realise it's just a reply to some stupid thing I posted on someone else's video or just someone uploading something.

Is there anyway I can disable the notification bar? I want to see if there any setting where I have the option to disable it if I want to.

I love seeing something there, there's always a little voice telling me not to get too excited in case it's a hate comment but usually people are pretty nice

I get excited.
I think this: "Yay! Someone commented on my video!" And then it ends up just being a +1 on a Google+ group
And then I has a sad. ;-;

Generally, it's exciting because it makes you feel fluttery when someone actually takes the time to interact with you.
