The camera thing will help because then you'll be able to upload in HD or a better resolution. That will really help your videos a lot.
 
My goal is to reach 100 subs by the end of 2015, I think that's pretty achievable as I've only had this channel over a month and I've got 22 so far :P

I also want to try and upload more often, I'm so busy with life and work that I can only do 1 a week but I want to increase that to 2 a week.

Keep those goals small people, one small step at a time and before you know it you've walked a mile.

I'm in the same boat as you! Although I only have 12 subs at the moment :tongue:
So far I'll try do maybe 2 videos in one week & upload them on Sunday.
I've only just started my yt channel (2-3 weeks ago) & only 4 videos up, but I can say that I'm pretty happy
with the views & subs so far. It's definitely more than what I expected lol (I expect very little).
 
You'll both get there it is really a slow process but so worth it. You just have to look at it as if even one person likes you/your videos it is worth it. I've been at this almost a year and I can tell you growth is just random. 8 months into doing youtube I only had 185 subs...3 months later im almost at 800 it is just random

Wow that's great man, it definitely appears to be random. It's like a "right time, right place" kinda deal.

Every time I see that someone has subscribed I get a really good feeling from it and I feel like making another video there and then. Just wish I didn't have to work! :P

Yeah it is especially for gaming channels some videos just random get more views than others. But for a smaller channel you are getting pretty good views man, so you'll be getting subs in no time. And that feeling really never goes away XD
 
Quality of lighting/videos. I have so many things I want to do but whenever I film the quality just isn't what I want it to be. Hopefully I can invest in lighting next year.
