Youtube Name Picking Guide

CramBoom

Classy Science
I think this is a given, but make sure to pick a name THAT IS EASY TO REMEMBER. I tried my best doing this, but I'm not sure if I was successful.

Guidelines:
-Don't add irevelant numbers to your username, it makes it hard to remember. But if the numbers make sense, its fine (eg gokuover9000 vs gokuover2354)

-Try to make your name as short as possible, I know this is harder due to the sheer number of youtube accounts out there, but try your best. Smosh is very short and easy to remember

-Try to make it something people recognize. For example, a gaming channel could have a gaming reference (NoScopeBob).

-Make sure your name is brandable, for example NoScopeBob could use a sniper as his avatar, and a rifle as his banner. You shouldn't have to try too hard to make an avatar that fits your name.

-Spend a lot of time picking a name, you will be stuck with it as long as you use that channel (thanks Kate (Caitlin))

-Make is something timeless, not something you will grow out of in a while (thanks Cameron 484)

That's all I have so far, do you guys have anything to add?

Make sure you spend A LOT of time thinking about what your name will be. Maybe spend a few months thinking about it because if you don't choose the right one you will regret it.

I spent a little over a month thinking about a name, but when everything good I thought of was taken I decided to use my actual name with numbers.

Do I regret it: A little bit
Does it matter much: Not really, my viewers get to know me on a slightly more personal basis.

Like mentioned earlier, as long as it is short and easy to remember, then it will be fine. It is also a good idea to keep it timeless. Don't name it after something you will grow out of in a couple of months/year.
