YouTube Looking For Exclusivity

I think we'll find out more as the story develops but the idea is that Youtube I think is now worried about other video platforms and wants to keep their top people in house.
 
I understand the value in keeping marquis talent but at what expense?

As for other platforms being willing to pay large sums of money, that is good for those that benefit but it won't bring other creators along for the ride.

YouTube welcomes competition in the sense that it will grow the over-all online video business and make it healthier with more content for consumers to watch.
 
I doubt this is for normal creators as most people thing of them. I'd guess that this is mainly for corporate channels that were previously funded via the original channels initiative. YouTube doesn't want another Pet Collective on its hands where a funded channel releases on another platform first.
