YouTube is Very Fair. Stop Complaining.

Oh, I'm not trying to claim that YouTube is '100% fair'. There's no such thing in this world. I'm also not trying to define what the word fair means. I just think generally, in the broad sense, YouTube is a very fair system.

Hmm, this is very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I always heard that watch time and retention were the most important for youtube's algorithm, so it's nice to see some more support for this.

Although I'd argue that there's plenty of rubbish videos that are popular, but that's all subjective isn't it :wacky2:

Yes you got it right. The fragment could be few seconds or longer. Or just the subject itself including the thumbnail. With your crush video you have hit a strong empathy moment - poor cute little girl seeing her favorite toy crushed (fortunately it is all setup otherwise you will be going into empathy and distressed kid exploit and that's not cool). On the other hand if you are getting many hits from "toy crush", "car crush" and other similar searches you may have hit also big adult (18+) video search stream (almost all but not all mega kids channels have hit such stream during their becoming viral phase). So you can make a few more videos like that (and I am sure they will all have very good stats) but in long term you may wish to stay away from crush videos or you will start to accumulate very undesirable audience.
.
Fascinating! Thank you for the explanation. From the technical details of your post, I take it your background is neuroscience/bio-engineering?
I am most interested in learning more about how movies and images can activate these brain centers. Can you point me to some research articles or peer reviewed work in this area. Thanks!!

It's a clickbait title. What are you trying to prove with your comment... I don't understand...
My point was simply that you stated, "I'm not trying to claim that YouTube is '100% fair'" yet the title to this thread is "YouTube is 100% fair" and it is a thread in which you state that YouTube is a fair system. You are contradicting yourself is all.

Yeah, clickbait titles tend to do that :)

Anyway, there's no such thing as 100% fair in this world, so there are are.

Oh, I changed the title of the topic btw. :)

So no answers for your claims @TZJINZO ? Don't get me wrong, you got some good information in your OP, but there's also a lot of information that make claims against the standard. Would love to see your source on SEO guidelines.
