Youtube is not a hobby anymore

I do YouTube because it gives me something to do besides school work! Loving it on my new channel so far.

It can be very annoying when YouTube starts to feel like a chore.
I have that feeling with video assignments for college; I have to make and edit a video and upload it to YouTube, something that I have been doing for years but now I'm getting an actual grades for it it feels like a chore lol

I'm still trying to keep my own channel in the hobbyzone though, it's probably a good thing that I don't do weekly videos.

I feel the same way. If you upload everyday for a month you will feel like its a job. Putting editing in ever video too... That feels like a job!

I can relate. ^^ After working all week in front of the computer, the last thing I want to do is spend my short weekends in front of a computer some more.. lol! Sometimes it makes it feel like an extension of work, especially if it's a nice day outside and I could be hiking instead.. =/

Working late at night when you're tired but needing to get things done

I've definitely experienced plugging away into the whee hours of the morning thinking that I'm coming up with some awesome instrumental backing track, only to listen to it the next morning and think.."Good Heavens! What on Earth was I thinking?! D: " hahaha! xD If there's anything I've learned so far, it's okay to work late, just don't post things late..anything made that late can wait a few more hours to be posted the next morning after a short sleepy-time break... ^^ I've saved myself from posting a ton of embarrassing videos by following this idea! : P

Its a passion. People have different priorities in life. Maybe youtube is yours. Do what makes you happy, you got 1 life to live. Cheers!

For me it's as much a hobby as it isn't at the same time. I try to make videos at a decent pace, at least something new every weekend. I do stay up late nights working on them until I get them done. And as a reviewer, it's gotten to the point that every time I see a movie or something I just feel the need to review it and make a video out of it.

Sadly the part that makes it a hobby is lack of enough views/subs to make any money off of it. Whenever I actually make something off the videos, then I can start saying it's more than just a fun hobby... and I can better justify those long nights editting.
