I've Got It
Title explains it all, i can't believe i fit that under one sentence, oh and you can read it here: theverge.com/2018/1/23/16925564/youtube-musicians-signing-non-disparagement-promotion
As a musician, this isn't ok because this never happens on other sites and this is way worst of a deal than the 4k viewing requirement per year since we are forcibly are being given a choice between never saying bad things to youtube or saying bad things to youtube and never getting paid because of that one time.

As for the contract, pretty much every employer I've worked for makes their employees sign stuff that say they will be model citizens and represent the company in a positive light while employed. It's a little weird in this case since this is more like freelance rather than a YouTube job, but maybe it's a bit different if YouTube is funding billboards for musicians...? I'd need to see what the contract says, but I'm guessing they came up with this idea because of a bad experience? :/ I've noticed that YouTube has been in "reactive mode" lately...
