Youtube in X years?

well if the world doesn't end in 20 years then I think youtube may not still be around. Let at all the other website that were big bug faded away. Youtube is like a dinosaur thinking it's big, bad and nothing can hurt it. Yet when something bigger and badder came around the dinosaurs are no more. Stupid dinosaurs didn't know how to duck and cover.

I agree with the part where you said that nobody will be able to recognize you. I think in about 10 years You Tube will be just like T.V. Where if you are a nobody who is not first featured on somebody elses channel, or if you don't pay thousands of dollars to promote yourself then you don't stand a chance. Its already gotten Waayyyy harder to promote yourself throughout the years since You Tube is constantly shoving the main stream channels down your throats. That is why I'm trying to get my channel in a good spot right now so that i'm not trying to claw my way to the top when You Tube fame becomes all but impossible.

I think YouTube would either be dead, or become a place where 1 million subscribers will only earn you £200 a month, as the value of a subscriber will lessen as there are many more.
.... thats not how it works bro lol... you dont get paid by the "value of a subscriber". YouTubers get paid by companies so that the company can advertise their service. Youtube doesnt pay youtubers based on their subscribers. So if there are more people on youtube in the future, then youtubers will make MORE money because they will be getting more views.. not the other way around

The value of a view would decrease with the value of a subscriber, more people watching more videos, means less value that view would be worth.[DOUBLEPOST=1405931624,1405931541][/DOUBLEPOST]By when I stated subscribers I meant subscribers reflect your channel and how many views you get, use your brains. xD

No.. thats wrong. Its not a simple case of supply and demand. If we were talking about jars of jelly then you would be correct. If there is more jelly, the cost of the jelly would go down. However, views are not jars of jelly. There is no "value of a view" the view is always equal to 1 viewer. Companies want to get their product or service known to as many viewers as possible, and since 1 view always equals 1 viewer, that means that youtubers would not make less, if anything they would make more. If you can't understand what im saying then think about it from the companies standpoint.

example
Zephyr is paying $1 a day to youtube so that his ad is seen by 20 people. Now youtube has more viewers your ad will be seen by 40 people. In your theory, you would now pay less because they showed your ad to more people. Can you see now how that is wrong?

What will really happen is that youtube and youtubers will probably make more money! Thats because more companies will start to realize how large the youtube audience is and start advertising there instead of tv or newspapers. More companies means more competition. So instead of 200 companies bidding for ad space on pewdiepies channel (example) there will be 400 companies, which in turn will raise his cpm. in the end resulting in MORE Money.

Everyone must have Google+ which will then be a monthly subscription of $200 and everyone must also sign a contract selling all of their property and their souls to Google and then Google will take over the world and we will all become slaves to Larry Page

:(

1. I think you think about this waaaay to much
2. 10-20 years youtube will be something completely different and you will be telling your kids "Back in the day we had this thing called youtube" and they will reply... "yeah we know. we did history...."

Just look back at how technology has shaped devices and the internet (computnet for the oldies). in 10-20 years the internet will be replaced with a new networked called SkyNet and it will be totally integrated to everything from your washing machine to the killer drones that fly over head..

Technology changes could easily sink the YouTube concept; at the moment the whole set-up is still using the d/load upload concepts. This method isn't set in stone and could easily change when new ways to transport data are achieved. Google has no actual right to be at the forefront of this, don't they just buy up businesses and aren't really a creator of tech anymore?

To think it'll just be here till the end of days is naive..turn off the power switch and its dead!

I think it will change completely with new stuff coming in all the time, and we'll all complain about it and Emma Blackery might even write another song but in the end whatever happens, we'll still be using it until it gets cut completely
