YouTube has contacted me, offering consultation

Crown

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So I have just received an invitation to a possible consultation with YouTube about my channel. I seem to remember a couple of other people on here have had these in the past and I was wondering if they did it and was it worth it?

(I've done some checks and the mail headers are definitely coming from @google.com and the link to that registration form goes to an official YouTube subdomain)

Following! I received the same message, i am curious as well.

It's in fact the second time I've received this offer. The first offer was several months ago but it was for a consultation with a 3rd party company in my country that YouTube had sub-contracted the consulting to. I wasn't interested or comfortable with that but a one-to-one with an actual YouTube employee would definitely be more valuable - Not just for the learning experience but for networking purposes. Having a contact at youTube would be pretty useful, not just now but in the future too.

Are you going to do it?[DOUBLEPOST=1445535838,1445535728][/DOUBLEPOST]
awesome! Is that offered to those that pass 100k?

Well I recently passed 100k, but I don't think that's the criteria because I received a similar offer a few months ago (way before I had 100k) :)

I certainly would if I had the option :) all the youtube reps I've met so far have been very helpful :)

That's pretty cool but what's the catch? You benefit from their consultation/networking what's in it for them?

It makes perfect sense for YouTube to want to encourage anything that keeps people on their website. - More views on my channel would result in people spending more time on Youtube. That means more people sharing my vids, more ad views etc. It's definitely in their interest to help me grow. win-win.[DOUBLEPOST=1445540623,1445540338][/DOUBLEPOST]
It looks like an auto-generated mail but let's hope there won't be a robot calling you saying "be consistent, be consistent, be consistent, ..." :D

Hah hah, yeah probably automatic but it was a personal email address with someone's first name. I think I'll at least fill in the form and say I'm interested. I already know what questions I want to ask them. ^^ They said they could do it by phone. :)

45 percent ;)

Yes, you summed it up much better than I did. :D

I received this a couple of weeks ago. I filled out the linked form (I am really curious as to what advice they could possibly give that doesn't already exist in the creator playbook or their other marketing materials).

It's been 3 weeks since I filled out that form and no one has gotten back to me yet, so who knows.

I received it around 1 week ago and already joined it (they approved me within days). It is YouTube Japan BTW. For now I am just reciving generic emails with invitations for Halloween YouTube Tokyo Space party, links to online materials etc. etc. Nothing interesting.
If something interesting happens I will update you. :)
