YouTube has changed a lot over the past few years, good or bad?

I think it's a good change for youtube. But i do miss the stars for ratings on videos xD But having likes and dislikes shows can show if a video is good or bad much better

Google account which then burdens you with an annoying Google plus account!

Burden? You just have to set it up once.
I created my account in 2006 and am familiar with the old format.
It would be embarrassing to have that kind of website nowadays.

When it first happened it was really a disaster. Now I think it's a bit better, but it's still not really worth while to actually use G+ since there are so few people on it except certain niches. However, I do think very recently YouTube is stepping up their game for creators. The new stuff with creator credits, a future Patreon-like donation system, and the creator app are just a few examples of major improvements to YouTube. Is it perfect? No, but it's getting better.
