You shouldn't do something that you don't enjoy anyway regardless of hardware issues. If you passion for gaming videos has gone then stop them but don't throw the towel in if the only thing stopping you is a naff night recording :(

words of wisdom right here :)

do what you enjoy, if you lose your passion for gaming, give it one more chance, try playing something that really got you into gaming, and made you want to be a youtube gamer in the first place. Make sure the recording all goes well, and if after all that you still just 'arent feeling it' then it's time to move on.

number 1 priority - you're happiness.
If you do something you don't love, your viewers will notice, and there just wont be any heart to your vids.

If you do decide to change your channel, don't forget to inform your subs of the change beforehand, and tell them why you're changing, keep them in the loop!
 
Definitely try something new! I was in the same situation as you man about a couple of months ago, ever since then we've been uploading comedy sketches and even started new shows and all that xD

There's been a lot of suggestions already as I can see, so best having a think about what you would like to do and then go for it :)
 
Thanks every one for the advice I will still do gaming just going to wait till I find a good game to do that I like but yeah I was very fustrated with the elgato last night
