YouTube full time choices

It''s my number 1 goal to do youtube full time. I finished school years before I even started.

However, I would say finish school and get a job to support yourself since it takes a while to get successful on youtube. Dedicate every moment of your spare time to youtube if you can.

That's what I want to do after I finish school. The things I'm learning in school have nothing really to do with what I really want to do in the future.
Holy crap, its gonna be pretty intense the next 4 years...

As I said in my text you need to develop a business plan. We have a series of channels. The ones in my signature are two relatively new projects. I've been running channels since 2007. The channels I run bring in a good portion of rent, and then we outsource the work we do for our videos to bring in extra money from online work. So same amount of work double the money. In return we pay our bills and rent from doing YouTube full time.

Anybody on this forum ever make the decision to stop going to school and do videos? Specifically close to college graduation when should be looking for a job etc. Tough call

Well I did, but Youtube pays more than any other job I've had, and I get a raise every month.

If I had like 100-200k subs I'd still want my job at the bank. It's good with a back up anyways.

Sure, but maintaining a big channel doing daily videos will most likely require a bit more time than you will have when doing a fulltime job, let alone if you do manage to have enough time to do videos next to it, you then won't have enough sleep to do your normal job without falling asleep halfway during your work day...

Keep in mind, doing YouTube full times means you now have to pay for health insurance and dental, etc. You have no 401k plan, no savings plan, so it's up to you to save what money you make. You'll have to budget very well. You also get paid once a month, so that is also something to think about.

Right now if I wanted to do YouTube full time, I'd need to make 15-20k more than I do at my current job to cover insurance costs, savings, etc. Still have a long ways to go.

I am 36 years old. If I would have had a video camera and made videos when I went to College I would have TONS of great videos. Don't rule out school. They can go together.

Things that help make viral videos can be found in college. Things such as:

• Sexy Women
• Old Man Drinking Milk Through a Beer bong
• Arguing Politics over Natural Ice
• Stoned Beer Pong
• Hiking and Camping trips
• My Buddy getting his pants "melted" to his legs after jumping through camp fire multiple times

I had countless experiences in school and many of them would make great video ideas. School and Youtube CAN go together. Just my 2 Cents

It takes time to grow a channel, so if you are just starting out, do Youtube part time and release videos 1-3 times a week, put your heart into it and see how far you've goten in say 1 year and ask yourself if you still want to continue, and do it full time. These top YT's who are doing it full time have been uploading videos FOR YEARS. If you have less than 100k subs I wouldn't go for it. Unless you go viral from out the gates you are looking at a loss/making maybe a couple hundred bucks. This mostly applies to gaming and vlogging channels.
