Youtube Etiquette: Should you reply to all comments?

I've read in lots of different places that you should always reply to the comments on yours videos.

Does this only apply to questions people ask in the comments?

Or should you reply and thank people who say "nice video", etc.?
 
I always reply if it's pertaining to the video only but if it's a discussion between two or more youtuber about the video I don't XD
 
I reply if they ask a question and sometimes if its a comment from someone who comments on my videos on a regular basis.

It all depends on how you want to do it. If your someone who doesn't have many viewers, replying to comments is a great way to get them to come back and gain publicity. If your popular and get more comments than you can reply to, I would only respond to the questions and ones you like.
 
I reply to all my comments. It makes people feel more welcomed on my channel.
Then again I don't get more than a handful of comments on my videos.
Usually I reply with just a simple 'thanks for the comment' or 'Thanks for watching', but it matters to them that I respond.
 
I tend to respond to most of them but not where others are having a discussion unless I have some sort of input for it. I sometimes feel like I shouldnt respond if all I am doing is thanking someone but I do think people appreciate it, I think it can look a bit funny if you respond to loads of them with thanks etc (I still do this as much as I feel like this at times).
 
I reply to the majority. If I'm not going to reply I do not reply to any on that vid don't want to leave anyone out
 
I HATE it when I miss a comment. To me it's like, ignoring someone. I mean they're telling me they liked my video, I should at least say thanks. And I try to go further by joking around with my comments and trying to be really friendly. Sometimes you can't help but miss comments, but I think it's good to try to respond to them all. If not it's like acting like the person never complimented you in the first place. I suppose if it's discussions about your video's content that's different, but if it's a compliment I feel weird if I don't respond.
