YouTube dislike?

I sometimes think that having no dislike buttons would be great, but that's just because when someone thumbs down a video of mine, it's a crappy feeling - and someone mentioned that people will do it 'because they can'. At the same time, having no dislike button would make the experience numb or not as exciting. If that makes sense. It makes me appreciate the people who choose to 'like' over 'dislike' and therefore I think it makes the whole thing a bit more worth it. That's my two cents.

Hahaha exactly.... This is why I hate this OPTION lolzxz

I've only used the 'dislike' once in seven years.

The problem with it is because its used in a vague way - you don't know why users click it, nobody communicates. I've found it's usually done to show displeasure at what I simply said or how I said it.

I've liked videos from people where I don't share their point-of-view but respect them and how they put it across! I'm weird..:P

Agreed... Sometimes i get a new dislike without any reason hahaha

If dislikes make you feel bad then removing the button wouldn't make you feel better. There are other ways people can let you know if they don't like your content (comments, Twitter,...). I think you'd be better off getting to terms with the fact that not everyone in the world will love your content.

well its good that youtube has a dislike option, its like your viewers freedom of speech to say wether they like it or not and being anonymous so its good because it gives you good feedback on wether your viewers like that video and wether they want to see more or less of it, you shouldn't think of a dislike in a bad way, more of a way to improve.

I would hate if there was no dislike button. If people cannot express their opinions on whether they like something or not through a simple click even if they didn't watch the video then whats the point in there being a like button. What world would someone want to live in where you can only express likeness towards something and if the dislike button was taken away people would just express their dislike for a video in the comments more likely. We to be able to express a dislike for something or else how are people supposed to know their content isn't up to standards of a viewer?
