YouTube deleting videos

Already scraping the edge but still fine in my eyes.

And it is because that edge isn't clear, they should add some kind of warning. If they think it is over the line and they tell me, I would delete the tag without a problem. Do I deserve my video and its views to be gone forever? I don't think so, sure hope not...[DOUBLEPOST=1433944719,1433944548][/DOUBLEPOST]
That's a violation then. But usually they are not too strict with it when you are not pushing the limits too far. Language has such a wide variety that you simply can't give a clear line.

If you feel you are pushing the limits you likely do so. When in doubt leave it it out.

It's very unlikely that somebody who searches for Jenna Marbles will find your video and then watch it long enough to improve your ranking for that keyword.
I just thought that if people are looking for videos of people remaking Jenna Marbles' video they would find mine... and there are a lot of those.
I'm just going to delete the tag... I'm too paranoid :p Her name is already in the description due to the link so I'll just keep it at that...

And it is because that edge isn't clear, they should add some kind of warning.
That procedure already is the warning. Previously accounts got terminated for tag spam. Furthermore YouTube doesn't actively search for tag violations. They only react on flags. That's why they can't give you a warning in advance.

If they think it is over the line and they tell me, I would delete the tag without a problem.
But the damage is already done in this situation. Your video ranks higher than others who stick to the rules on YouTube and other sites because of the views you gained due to a rule violation.

Do I deserve my video and its views to be gone forever? I don't think so, sure hope not...
You in this particular case likely not but I have seen others who definitely deserve the punishment.[DOUBLEPOST=1433944940,1433944848][/DOUBLEPOST]

Why not use "Jenna Marbles Remake" as tag in such a case.

Why not use "Jenna Marbles Remake" as tag in such a case.
Because the chances are limited that someone would use that exact set of words. I'm deleting it don't worry.

I just think the situation is sad for some who have had their videos deleted and they don't even know why (and I know more than one)... They didn't even learn anything from it.

They don't need to. YouTube search doesn't stick to the exact tag wording. Staff always recommends to use tags that consist of several words and are rather targeted towards humans than towards algorithms. That why "Noise Removal Tutorial" may rank better for a "How to remove audio noise" search than "Noise", "Removal", "Tutorial". Algorithms are more and more able to interpret the meaning of a search rather than the wording.
No matter which tags you use - if somebody searches for "Jenna Marbles" he will likely only be shown videos from her channel. If your video is by any chance shown anyway and somebody who wanted to see a video from her what do you think is going to happen? He will immediately see that the content is not what he was searching for and leave the video. This will lead to a penalty on your rank for the search term "Jenna Marbles".
The reason why YouTube worries about it is third party sites. As they don't have data about whether a video was watched or not they may present it to users. The views from these sites may trick YouTube as they can't know which search term the viewer used on that site.

I know people that have channels like mine, where they really try their best and try to build a community (so not trick anyone) and have their video deleted because YouTube felt it was misleading. They just received an e-mail saying they deleted it, but no specification why..
I know YouTube (and specifically Google) are usually pretty vague about why they remove or penalize an account, YouTube or otherwise. I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in the terms of service it says they have permission to remove content without notice if it's found to be in violation of policies.[DOUBLEPOST=1433949902,1433949518][/DOUBLEPOST]
It is when you add a normal tag to your video that they find does not match your video enough.
I wouldn't be surprised if people flag videos that have misleading tags too. Just like random people flag videos for copyright. It's pretty easy for others to see the tags on your video whether they look at the page source code or have a browser extension to shows tags.

Hopefully they are starting to target the largest of channels too which break the TOS daily which set a huge example for smaller channels, I would bet that is why most smaller channels do it, they see a large channel doing it so they try it in their description to see if it helps. If they remove their videos then maybe they will take the TOS more seriously and not do as they please as it seems they do currently.

@Michael I have seen videos with several million views being deleted for tag Spam. So it looks as if they are indeed treating people equally.

This is the kind of crap that is happening on YouTube.
People are swiping the titles, descriptions, tags and even random thumbnails from my other videos. Then they make a video that has nothing but pictures and royalty free music but have nothing to do with my titles, descriptions, tags and thumbnails.

I have complained repeatedly to YouTube and it keeps happening. Even worse is when the video is pictures of scantily clad women. Viewers search for RaceGrooves, find a thumbnail that looks like toy cars, click and watch only to find raunchy pics. This has the potential to damage my brand as well as cause people to not trust YouTube.

i have mixed feelings about this one, on the one hand I hate it when you look for a particular video and it just shows "You can view this video here" and there are like 300 uploads of the same thing - but on the other hand ....if I make a video titled "Happy" of happy moments i had doing whatever .....would someone say that's misleading because people will think Pharrell ? - it's right on the edge of censorship. Yes, I also know that is pretty extreme, but then so was the copyright massacre youtube allowed major labels to do on people with public domain music.

Did you know that on the changedotgov channel, youtube allowed a Content ID claim on the Presidents Chicago speech ? - claiming that he is using samples from a song that sampled his vocals. It's still there too, I actually use it as an example to show other media related companies how dysfunctional the youtube system is.

It actually has symbolic meaning to me, that such an act shows how corporations own government. ( script idea! )

I think youtube needs to remove the plank from it's own eye before it goes around removing dust from it's users account lol

The only videos that have been deleted are by myself because I could not stand to see my own video anymore.
