Youtube Comments Getting Worse?

YouTube content creators with huge channels are contemplating closing comments section. With the overfllowing hate, but most of it is nice, genuine people. I guess with a bigger audience comes more haters though. What's your thoughts. Let me know...

outa those Thousands of nice fans only say 10 will post when all hundred of the haters will post everytime, something negative that will start a debate and conflict and other usless sht, soo sometimes it is a viable option.

I completely disagree with closing the comments section. Youtube is about creating a community, What's the point if they can't converse. The only reason big youtubers like Pewds gets away with it is because he's so big that he's going to continue making money and getting views no matter what he does. If anyone like us were to close our comments it would be completely crippling to our channels.

But he moved his comment section to a moderated forum soo that only positive are said not seperating from fans just filtering out all the haters.

The thing is, you can't censor all the haters. You need honesty in the comments, both good and bad. If you only show the good you're kinda lying to yourself, or covering up the fact that you're not as universally loved as the comments that you do leave show. Of course the mindless trolls that only wanna start crap should be deleted/banned, but not honest criticism.

The way I see it, you can't filter out haters in life. If you can't handle the little kids with iPods bored at home then you won't be able to handle real hate and criticism if your channel were to ever lead to more possibilities outside of youtube. You've just got to bite the bullet and take the hate to make you stronger. Blocking the comments is not fair to those who love you and got you where you are. It makes me so mad when Youtubers will scroll right past all the praise and genuine comments people leave them, but stop and respond to a hater. Let it alone and let your "fans" (FAMILY) defend you. If things get out of hand on one particular comment then block or spam it whatever. Most of the time if you and your subscribers ignore the person nothing will even happen. They need to feed off reaction so just ignoring them would save a lot of trouble. Just my opinion of course.

I filter certain words since we have children's content, I don't want profanity and coarseness on my channel. So the filter catches a lot of the worst haters. However, if someone simply doesn't like the video and wants to criticize it, that's fine.

word. totally agree with you. Don't be so busy blocking the haters that you block your fans too. You are who you are because they made you who you are.

I think it has to do more with the spam big youtubers get. It isnt too bad when a small channel gets a few "check out my channel!" or "I know you will never see this but Im a youtuber with X amount of subs". But once you get a lot bigger that spam turns into thousands of comments like that. I would get annoyed too. However, I think it would be wise to somehow allow Moderators on youtube channels. Not give them all access but minor things like Delete comments and such.

I'm still not sure how all this stuff works yet since I only ever used to use youtube to watch videos, but like stated earlier if you can type in keywords to filter then I would think you can also add on things that pertain to "check out my channel" or something of the sort. Again I still feel it's not fair to the people you basically made you what you are. I'd be p****d if someone I loved and subbed to especially when they hardly had any subs did that.
