Youtube Comedy week Show

I dont think so but in a business sense no business will sponsor or give a branding deal that will potentially bad mouth the product. This guy did that in front of millions think about how that would hurt the company. Out of the millions that saw that maybe 100, 000 will chose not to eat there. There by hurting their profit. He just became a high risk for other brands.

I vowed not to watch it from the moment I saw who was taking part in it; popular YouTubers, and that's it. In my opinion this comedy week malarkey is yet another attempt by Google to promote those who already have legions of followers, even more so; and leave the smaller guys even further in the shadows. Did they make the slightest attempt to search for, and promote up-and-coming talent? No! Really this 'comedy week' serves as a great metaphor for what YouTube has slowly become; a corporation. And so I refuse to watch it.

Spoiler: YouTube has always been a corporation.

Another spoiler: The point of Comedy Week isn't to promote small YouTubers, or big YouTubers, but to promote YouTube and it only makes sense to use the content(-creators) that is proven to appeal to the widest range of people...

True, but so what? Haven't they done that enough already? To be honest it wouldn't bother me nearly as much, if they made a proper effort now and again to promote smaller YouTubers. But alas, they don't! :/

You have never done it enough. Standstill is regress. But yeah, it really sucks, that they don't have anything like YouTube NextUp and aren't building YouTube Spaces so ppl could save thousands of bucks in rentals...

But why.... why does everyone have this picture of youtube in their head that youtube is contractaly obligated to give them hand out. No where in their term of service does it sah "if you use our site we will help promot you" do you understand how many people upload content to youtube. Do you understand how impossible it would be to find someone that hadn't yet made a name for themselve and is randomly good. Youtube is a video sharing site, some people us it as a new medium for entertainment others for personal reason. If you were running the company and you tired to promot everyone i have a feeling you would quickly stop.
Im not trying to hate on anyone, but people need to get it out of their heads that youtube need to help you.

Hey, that's not even his marketeers go kill yourself bit... /watch?v=gDW_Hj2K0wo

Personally I rather have honesty - people speaking their minds - trying to make the world a better place /watch?v=iMUiwTubYu0 , than trying to be careful to not step on the toes of someone with money, cause maybe someday they might be gracious enough to throw a few bucks their way to get sucked off.

If that dude hates Subway, he doesn't have to worry about ******* them off, cause he doesn't WANT to advertise for them. Which is the way it should be for anyone who isn't a spineless *starts sucking off microphone*

CUT TO:
10 Years later, when that guy is advertising for the newest Subway sandwich and someone is making a fool out of me by quoting this...

I don't believe that YouTube has to help anyone; however I feel it should at least be more balanced between popular channels, and smaller channels. Currently the big channels get all the attention, and the smaller channels get left to struggle in the shadows. Now I'm not saying promote everyone; I'm simply saying that YouTube could have a group of people, who keep a look out for smaller channels with quality content, that deserve more attention. I don't see how that is not feasible; it's not at all impossible to find videos on YouTube, made by people who only have a handful of subscribers. And if it's not impossible to find them, it's not impossible to find up-and-coming channels to promote either.

LOL too bad everything is about money... I wonder how much honesty actually costs.[DOUBLEPOST=1369075610,1369075044][/DOUBLEPOST]

Actually a few years ago thy had algorithems and people to do that. One guy I seen talks about pokemon and crys alot about the injustice of cartoon companys and his emotions he only had a few subscribers (maybe 1000) and someone from youtube tweeted his video and they made him a partner. It used to be a little easier to get featured on the homepage but now its mostly for mega viral vids that are in the millions not hundreds of thousands. Youtube is all about self promotion now that the youtubers that started with them have made a name for themselves. Being honest most of them really didnt get hand outs either they gathered a following and the fans spoke for them. Plus a few of them have been making videos for 6 years. If none of us make it pass 2 or 3 we dont have the right to talk about it.
