Youtube closed my gaming channel!

Hello!
Youtube has shut down my channel.
It happened on Wednesday 13th of August and I'm very confused.
I had no copyright strikes or no community strikes.
I got a strange automated mail from Youtube saying that they
have closed my channel;.."we concluded that the activity on your account is contrary to the story of our guidelines,
which forbids spam, fraud and commercially misleading hold.."
Youtube/Google must be the only place in our society where you can actually do this.
Closing down an account that hasn't got any warnings(their own system) and without a reasonable explanation why.
I have appealed to Google by filling in a form, although the chances that it would help is really small
(they haven't answered me yet) My network TGN says that they can't help me when it comes to "violations".
They just say that I should fill in this form, which I've already done. TGN has also written two mails two me,
and I start to think that they're just speculating what might have happened since they haven't confirmed that
this is information via Youtube. First they said; "you can't ask for subs in a giveaway..".
I've only done one, it was a betakey for Destiny, that was for my subs, I say in the end of the vid(quote):
"...Thumbs up, guys, give it a like maybe comment and subscribe, but also, I have one beta key
that I can give you. So one of my subscribers will get a betakey. Just write "please give me a betakey" in
the comment section, and on Sunday I will announce the winner..." (end of quote).
Again, this is for my subs, and I've acted in good faith.
Second, TGN says that you can't use game trailers. That's when I got a bit mad,
asking them to stop speculating and answer my question; do you know what has happened or not?
This is very frustrating and I'm kindly asking for some help or/and advice from you, guys.
I feel that I've done nothing wrong, and it's terrible to see all my hard work going down the drain.
Especially not knowing the reason why. I truly hope that this is a mistake. Kind regards, Roger-40splishsplash

I dont think that there is much that can be done at this point. when google/youtube chooses to suspend a channel the user can only really make input before the channel has been shut down. Once the channel has been shut down it is very unlikely that google/youtube will actually reopen the channel unless your a big channel. Now given if they really were in the wrong they might give you back your channel, but most of the time their choice is final and no matter how much input you try to put in it wont really make a difference.

I will say that I know where your coming from I too have a gaming channel and it's very hard to see when your crossing the line, with that said you may have actually violated a terms of service without even knowing. You said that you may have used game trailers? I know that you cannot upload the entire trailer so if you did that then maybe thats why they suspended your channel. At the end of the day I would not hold your breath, I would consider creating a new channel as sad as it is that might be your only option from here on out. Also I would ask more questions about using game trailers and music in your videos so that you dont run in to these problems again, I know that theres only so many seconds of a trailer that you can actually use with out getting a copyright strike.

Well sorry for this message being so long, I hope that it is of some help to you! Also I had just one question how many subs did you have on this channel and what was your views total at?

Best Regards,

Michael (EverydayGaming)

I would advise against creating a new channel as from what i can gather if your channel pulled for whatever reason by YouTube/Google it is against some rule or other to ever have another YouTube channel/account, TGN seem to me to be being very stupid as maybe they cannot actually do anything if you have violated some rule but surely the whole point of a network like them is to help you grow your channel and assist you if you run into any issues with YTs rules so surely they could at least look into this and have someone contact YT/Google on your behalf to see what the issue was and then maybe YT could reconsider on condition that you remove whatever caused the issue in the 1st place since you had no warning.

We all human after all and sometimes despite our best effort we fall foul of rules unintentionally. Also even if the channel isn't the biggest channel for gaming on YouTube if you have been accepted by TGN presumably you must have a fairly decent sub and view count so surely they would want your channel live as they make money from every live channel so seems bit silly to refuse the revenue they would make from your channel!

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your answer. It was actually my network TGN that talked about game trailers. I had six seconds from the opening
of the Destiny beta in a vid, but I was also making a commentary over it, so I don't think that's the case. Anad if that was the case, they would have taken down
the vid and give me a warning. At least that's how the system is supposed to work...Another guy here(crown) was talking about
tags in the description, and I was actually "cleaning up" my descriptions of my older vids, but I was only half through when this happened.
Again, it's terrible that you're in a situation where you just speculating. I really hope that Google answer me soon.

I had about 3700 subs and 760k views.

+1

YouTube are really strict on this. If you didn't follow these rules, then I bet that's the issue.

OP, also did you ever put tags in the descriptions of your videos? That's also a common reason for community guidelines strikes

Hi!
Yes, I had some tags left in my oldest vids, I was actually cleaning up in those vids when this was happening.
As you say, I might have violated these rules without knowing it, but the consequences are really hard.
No warning, nothing. How can we learn if we don't get feedback? I still don't know what happened,
and that's almost the worst part.

Thanks for your answer!

I just read the contest TOS, and it looks like your problem was that your contest was not skill based. It says in Terms of Service that the contact must be skill based and judged by a pre-set criteria of scoring.

Hello!

Thanks for a very good answer, this is exactly how I think and feel at the moment! What's the point with a network if they
don't back you up when you're in trouble? Just because I get this message and that my channel has been taken down, does that
make me guilty, and am I therefore not worth there support? As you say, they do make money out of our vids, but when the s**t
hits the fan, they don't assist you, seems very poor to me.

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand this; do you mean the giveaway? People do that all the time on Youtube, and if
I've done something wrong there without knowing, why don't they just take down the actual vid and maybe
warn me? Sounds strange indeed. I appreciate your answer, but again, we're all speculating; Youtube should be
much more clear of what kind of accusations they send out to their members. What do I learn from this? Nothing!

Best regards,
Roger

Well the best we can do on here i guess is hazard a guess at what YouTube/Google are playing at and speculate.

Maybe you could search on-line for the Google/YouTube creator space or go fins them at some official event like SitC and complain at them! Bit hard for them to avoid direct contact with them since they do not like giving customer service via internet or phone!

Hee hee, i just searched YouTube Creator space London and found there address & phone number lol, i would post it but not sure if thats within YTtalk rules!

The main problem i guess with falling foul of the rules is that websites make the terms and conditions so long no one can ever be bothered to read them and internet companies are happy to allow this as it means that they can put all sorts in there so you can easily break them without ever knowing!
