YouTube Character

I made my female character for my channel and its really hilarious :P
I think you should come up with something by ur own and make it more humorous :)

Just take parts of your personality and extend them. For example Miranda sings, she is actually a singer and started making youtube videos about singers she saw on youtube

Do you mean actual skits, like Smosh, or do you mean like little skits inside of your vlogs and Q/A's? If you mean to do actual skits, you could go a route similar to Shane Dawson and just make up new characters (played by yourself) all the time to fit into whatever skit you're doing. If you mean for vlogs, then I would say that you could make a character to make comments on the things that you say, or the answers you give to questions. Perhaps with a personality a bit contradictory to yours? On a side note, I wouldn't be too too worried about making a fool of yourself. The thing about Youtube is that you're putting yourself out there to the whole internet, so it's natural to be a bit mmmm..... cautious, in what you do and how you act. However, you'll find that the things that you feel are foolish, are what viewers feel make you unique. For example, I've seen PewDiePie make a fool of himself time after time in his videos, doing things I would feel utterly embarrassed to do, let alone have on the internet. Yet he has 30+ million subs. In my opinion, if you watch your video and feel that it's outright stupid or unfunny, (depending on the type of video) then maybe you might want to think twice before uploading. Other than that, feeling a little embarrassment might just be a sign that you've done something right.
thanks for the advice :) definitely made me feel more confident

I'll second what amberly said.

Just be yourself, and take it to the next level. Exaggerate your personality. It will feel more genuine then making up a character from scratch.

For example, I'm a generally sarcastic person in general, so I up the ante in my videos, through in some narcissism, and then counter it with self-deprecation.

Also, allow your character to evolve over time. Try new ideas, see what works, and adapt. And if you feel like your coming off like an idiot, your doing it right.
