YouTube Begging

WeegieMovies

I Love YTtalk
I'm not exactly sure what I want to ask here, but bear with me haha.
So I just watched a video where the guy's exact quote was "and if an ad pops up when you're watching, make sure you click it!"
Now I get asking people to like, subscribe, comments etc ('call-to-action' I think is the fancy term people are using), and I have to admit I'm guilty of doing that myself. I'd love to have the attitude of Charlieissocoollike, he says he'd never ask you to do that because if you like the video you'll do it anyway, but YouTube is totally different now than it was back then so small channels need to pretty much beg for free promotion/ audience interaction. But here's the thing...

Asking someone to click on an ad? Has someone finally went too far lol? I have a feeling that could be considered abuse of the ad policy.

Yeah I'd consider this way off aswell - asking for likes/shares/etc is fine in my opinion but asking people to click on ads.. Just no.

That's ok, just judging the community's reaction. At least I'm not the only one that thinks this is skewed, to say the least. I feel dirty asking for likes and stuff lol, I could never bring myself to do this.

Yeah...way too far. You're not even allowed to do that! It's one thing to ask for 'likes, comments and suscribe' I do that in all of my descriptions....but I'd never ask anyone to actually click on an ad! O_O

now I am kind of curious who did that quote haha but I don't see whats so bad about the phrase "if you enjoyed the video like, favorite, or subscribe" only goes towards people that enjoyed and possibly want to do any of that :P

Make sure you click the ad at least 1000 times, and ask all your friends to do the same!
This way, I can pay my rent and buy a really nice car. So... Just tell everyone to do it, mkay?
