It's annoying, and haven't heard of any updates.
What really annoyed me was whenever I tried viewing YouTube in Safari (for things such as analytics) it would always open the app instead.
I was therefore forced to delete it

Functionality like what? And Apple dosen't like Google, thus likes to limit their apps.
