YouTube adds support for 4K live streaming

YouTube won't ever stomp Twitch until its customer service is comparable to Twitch. Hell a lot of tubers threaten to move completely to Twitch if YT doesn't fix or at least address the algorithm problems.

It's a cool feature anyways for the people that can use it. Wonder if Devinsupertramp will stream BTS of his videos in 4k.

Twitch has it's own problems but that's another thread. I haven't had these algorithm problems everyone else seems to have. If everyone does move to Twitch it'll become over saturated.
 
I have streamed at 1440p on YouTube and I have streamed on twitch. YT has a loooong way to go to beat twitch. Twitch is just superior for streaming in every way. Streaming at 4k is so taxing on your computer I mean I barely could at 1440p and I have a pretty strong rig. Streaming at 1080 is fine but honestly 720 is just as good and having a lot of bitrate is just a gimmick. I watch streams for entertainment, not for how good it looks.

I guess so since Twitch did start as a streaming platform (Now it's slowly moving to video uploads). I don't really think one platform is better than the other because each one has different things they are good at.
 
Twitch is king for streaming and YT is king for uploading. Me personally I dislike YouTube uploads compared to streams. So I've tried watching YT streams just the community isn't there compared to twitch, maybe one day...but I don't think so :p

Well no because Twitch kinda dominates in the community aspect. (I see your bias toward Twitch)
 
I am very biased to twitch I think i stated it by saying "Me personally I dislike YouTube uploads compared to streams" lol wut. Doesnt mean i didnt give youtube streaming a shot. I streamed on it for 2 months and tried watching streamers for the same time i was streaming. Im just giving my opinion lol. Here how is this you seem to want me to say YT streaming is better.

Oh I apologize. I'm a little sour at Twitch cause someone I watched on YT moved to Twitch full time not to mention a few other people i watch are streaming more often and I can't watch due to a data cap and slow internet speeds at night. I can't exactly get better internet service which sucks. I'd stream myself If i didn't have a cap and had better latency.
 
I generally don't like watching streams, because I'm pretty ADD and don't have the attention span to dedicate to it. Though I do enjoy watching Twitch highlights of some of my favorite streamers. Twitch is good to its streamers for the most part, fan donations are a good enough way to keep things active, on YouTube all I saw was you can add a billion ad breaks which is kinda stupid... least if I watched a stream and the streamer was taking time off the thing he was doing just to click the ad break button every 10-20-30 whatever minutes for anything other than an actual break it'd be pretty lame. Well YouTube does have the fan funding thing but its limited to like 4 places in the world, which is shiet.
