Your toxic mindset is (probably) killing your success

On this forum (and in life in general) I've been seeing a lot of people with a very toxic mindset that I want to warn you against (and of course tell you how to fix). It's the mindset that, "my stuff is great and I'm not successful because of [insert external reason here]." I don't care if your reason is "youtube isn't promoting smaller channels", or anything else; that mindset is absolutely toxic, and you need to rid yourself of it. Trust me, it will help you not just on YouTube, but in life.

Now, you're obviously wondering what your mindset should be. I guarantee you every really successful person in the world has this mindset: "I'm not achieving what I think I deserve. What am I not doing enough of? What do I need to improve. If I'm not where I want, it's MY FAULT." If you're scratching your head or about to type an angry comment, let me first explain.

You have much more control over your environment than you realize. Every business coach, life coach, mentor, or whatever will tell you that. If you really want to become world class, you need to take responsibility for everything in your life, good and bad. "Why on earth would you want to do that?" you ask. Because it's a double edged sword. If there is something you're unhappy about, it's either because of YOUR actions or YOUR inactions. But guess what, that means that it can be fixed by YOUR actions (and only your actions) as well!

This new mindset stops you from just waiting for a windfall, or "hoping" something good will happen. If you truly believe that you are the only one who can improve your situation (which is true), you'll have the motivation to actually change it.

Why most people don't have this mindset: It's painful for most people to accept that they are responsible for their failures. It's so much easier to blame others, blame the government, blame anyone except themselves. I say embrace the fact that you have a huge amount of control in your life, and know that if you aren't happy, there IS something you can do about it.
That was the sound of the nail being hit on the head. Excellent advice that (sadly) will probably not be taken by those who need to take it the most.

I find it very funny when a small channel claims to have amazing or hilarious content and then you view it and you just look and think "no.. just no". Bad mic, bad editing, bad everything but they are blinded by their own egos / desire to be famous.

I personally think my stuff is good, but I also know that there are always ways to do better. I am constantly changing things based on feedback and my own thoughts on how to improve. Staying the same when something isnt working will always make you fail.
