Your Reddit experiences and success.

Ever heard of the hydraulic press channel? Granted, it does have some intrigue. After all, seeing things get crushed can always be fun, but reddit took it to another level. The channel has dwindled in popularity nowadays, but still more than popular enough to sustain a living with their current revenue.

But for every successful channel or video, you'll get thousands upon thousands of failed attempts on reddit. Many times, they will even brigade your video by downvoting and leaving nasty comments, especially if they know the only reason you've posted the video is for the sake of promoting your content.

My own personal experiences are mixed. It's extremely tough to get redditors to side with your content, but when they do, they really help. They were the first platform that help me grow substantially. I received 800 subscribers in one day. This was huge since I was still under 8,000 subscribers or so. But now, I find it not worth the time to promote on reddit because there are other ways to receive consistent growth minus the backlash.

I take back what I said - kind of. Reddit HATES LET'S PLAYERS - especially those who promote. "Let's Players" are basically looked at as Markiplier, PewDiePie, JackSepticEye nerd loser wanna be's. As soon as a gaming video comes up - it will get met with hatred usually. For other types of content, Reddit usually will welcome it with open arms - especially intriguing ones like the one you mentioned -- or anything else basically that doesn't have anything to do with playing games.

I could see why it gets met with hate though - for every vlog video there is 300 or more gaming video - most of them terrible and or just kids playing Minecraft, Let's Play has a bad name on Reddit. >_>

Yep, unless you're posting in a let's play subreddit, reddit will absolutely kill you for trying to post let's play videos on the platform.

I forgot to mention that, a big reason for my "success" on reddit was because I create information/education videos, which they tend to be a bit light-handed with. Even then, many times they criticized my videos heavily especially if the echo chamber blindly agrees with a redditor that thinks my information is wrong. Again, everyone should be careful with their approach on reddit.

Definitely a double edged sword - there is no Let's Play in the world that can ever go viral on Reddit - that was only possible at the start of YouTube because there wasn't very many. Now it's just annoying to a lot of people, hence hard to grow now -- *sigh lol

My brother posted my video on Reddit without me knowing and I said that I must have went Anti-viral. Never had that many dislikes on a video before!

Ah yes yes... I actually have 1 hater on reddit, not sure who it is that'll dislike everythign I post and my videos. Losers >_> LOL stay away from reddit
 
I want to post my content on reddit but I truly do not know where to post it. You guys know which the best subreddits is for gaming content?
