I Love YTtalk
Just confirming- theoretically, I should be able to get maximum profit from just using YouTube's system and remaining unpartnered, because I'm getting 100% of the profits, right? Or do MCNs somehow get more money from monetizing and split it with you, resulting in an overall higher income? For some reason I always assumed partnered channels get more revenue than normal ones, but I realize now that doesn't make any sense. On the downside I guess I won't have the copyright protection MCNs offer if I stay unpartnered.
You don't necessarily have any copyright protection from MCN's. Just upload content that is allowed an you won't have a problem.
No, MCN's don't necessarily get you higher earnings. The percentage that they take from your channel is far more than any possible CPM increase you may receive. The vast majority of channels in networks are not getting any ads served for their channels on behalf of the networks. They are getting whatever YouTube serves.
