Your first paycheck from YouTube..

  • Started channel in July 2006.
  • Started trying to run a channel and put work into it in October 2014.
  • Started getting a lot of views halfway through April 2015. This is also when I enabled monetization and got an Adsense account. I passed the threshold that month and all the months since.

I don't remember how long it took. I was with a network that had a $50 threshold. I actually had to fight with these guys for months and prove I earned the money. Screen shots of everything. After a few days their dashboard showed I never made any money. Remember about screen shots though? I sent them a shot of their own dashboard that showed I had passed the threshold. They finally sent me the money and I was able to get released from my contract citing breach of contract on their end. I framed that damn check. I had to fight for it!

More than a year. But when it showed up I was like "So it's not BS"

It wasn't a significant income bonus, and it still doesn't significantly add to the bottom line. I'll start calling it income when I receive more than I put in it. Which, at the rate I am going, will probably be never. But that's ok. It's the best hobby in the world, and it's cool YouTube "earnings" help offset the cost a little.

Im at $62 haha so still a ways to go for my first paycheck.

I have been youtubing almost 8 months, but have only been monetizing my videos for 4 months.

Im sure when I get that first check it'll have a little bit of that "cool" factor, but its only $100 (or about $130 for us Aussies) so nothing to get too excited over imo. Plus, the money will go straight back in. ie towards a new camera or a giveaway etc

I do not put skippable ads because I think that draw audience away as a small channel. My adsense and estimated earnings analytic on Youtube have different amount, which one do I look at?

YouTube income are tallied with AdSense around a week before the 22nd of every month. The readings from the YT Analytics are subject to change.

The best bet would be AdSense. Look at Payment and you would see the final amount in credit.

Sounds like a nightmare omg. So you do not suggest joining a MCN?[DOUBLEPOST=1477023562,1477023485][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you UserU!

Not all MCNs are bad, but you have to do lots of homework before joining one.

I did ask a similar question some time ago, and was informed that the best way is still to stick to YT Partnership.

Contrary to popular beliefs, MCNs do not provide much benefits such as channel promos and they still take a cut from your earnings.

In addition, not all tools offered are actually exclusive when you could find them elsewhere. Royalty-free music? There's NCS and Purple Planet.

Previously I applied for Scalelab because they offered 80% share ad stated on their TOS. A representative got back to me and quoted 70%. After furnishing the evidence, he stopped replying from there.

I don't but some people say it works for them. I don't know how. I have actually asked a few people to tell me how it benefited them. Never got a response. I'm not asking them to be a smart a**. I genuinely want an answer.

It didnt't show up on adsense yet, but on youtube analytics it's way above the threshold. Anyway I'll just get terminated for some or no reason till then so I dont wanna be excited
