Now we all know that the YouTube comments is a land fraught with perils and 12 year olds, and today I have discovered one of the monstrous denizens of the comments - haters.

In less fancy talk, I got my first hater today. (Free publicity lol) He commented on most of my videos and disliked all of them (I think?). I'm happy in the knowledge that he is one against lots of support I get and he is just a natural part (albeit ugly) of YouTube. I like to see getting haters as progressive - like the person felt angrily enough about the video that they cared enough to leave a dislike and comment.

Anyway, I thought I'd create this thread so we can all share stories of our first haters or the funniest hater comments you have gotten.
 
The only people ive had is people giving me feedback on my channel and it was not that bad if im honest, the rest so far have been quite good, but i guess it will get worse lol but im really not ******, what are they making ? lol
 
I haven't had any haters yet, which I'm actually kind of sad about because I find hate comments amusing and think that getting your first one counts as a Youtube milestone. I have however had one person who went through disliking all of my videos, so that sort of counts I guess.
 
We actually got a baptism of fire on Youtube, our first video had so many rude comments and it's still our most disliked video to date, but we just carried on making videos because it's fun and we haven't got any haters since then :D
 
I have a few, some of them were pretty laughable & others just annoyed the hell out of me. There was this particular one who wouldn't shut up about GTA V even though I agreed with her on some things.
 
I've never met "the real hater", since I've been always making more serious videos. 12 y.o. kids do not watch them ;)
 
I recall my first one was a user called Arslan who said, "it's time to rid the world of your filth." My vivid memory of it is a testament to my reaction.

But since it's been about three years since that, and haters are a regular part of YouTube (and animation in general) I've been kind of proud of the hate comments as a reminder that I'm being bold, and getting somewhere. :D

I tend to remind myself all my favorites also didn't make cartoons without someone being offended at some point haha.
 
I have had my fair share of "haters" disliking my videos in droves. I just don't care. I p**s people off with my opinion / when I leave a comment and they come to my channel and dislike my videos. Thanks for the +1 view and thanks for the +1 engagement I always say.
 
@Jamie Aldridge, hey - I don't really consider feedback 'hate', it's more them trying to help you improve your videos rather than hating.
@Juzey same aha. I consider it a sort of milestone under the 'misc' term. I certainly feel as if I have progressed somehow now that I have gotten the dreaded hater.
@Smug Thuggler that's awesome how you can keep on keeping on despite having the baptism of fire. That would really suck, and frankly I'm impressed that you managed to push through all the bs :p
@Trevgauntlet Makes sense. I honestly prefer when the haters are articulate and not like "you suck!!111!!!". It's like, if you are going to hate - at least try to hate constructively.
@fatymid I can't imagine anyone being haters on science videos... That's just such a weird concept to me. And yeah, I suppose your content doesn't really cater to the 12 year olds like gaming channels like mine.
@Cromartie I don't really go on the animation part of YouTube that often, so I wouldn't know too much about it :P but it's pretty great that your view of getting haters has changed over the years rather than always being like how you originally reacted towards them.
@Niki Edits they will come eventually lol. Surprisingly mine have come a lot sooner than I expected, but what can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@TheDutchTexan, that's a good life motto to have. I have the same view, pretty much. They could be angry but I'm like 'lol you still watched though'.

Jeez their sure was a lot of @'s in this post haha.
