Your Backup Plan...

I'm not bursting my own bubble, but i was very bright in school and i've always been brilliant at writing, but mental health and bullies ruined it for me, i had finally gotten my GCSE's in college because i had a lot of catching up to do, i was doing great in my A-Levels but due to really bad personal problems i sadly got kicked out for missing a few lessons, so i was never able to finish them.

I've put the majority of my money into buying necessary things for Youtube, since it's the thing i really want to do, but, i also write stories and books on the sideline.
I'd love to be published one day too.

To be honest, I hate working for others. I'm above average intelligence, which helps, so I should get good grades. I feel that, at the grand age of 14, I'm starting YouTube at the right time. I have very few financial commitments, some spare time, and nobody depending on me. YouTube is a hobby for me, but if I could, I'd do it forever. At the moment however, it's simply a way to gain confidence, editing skills, people skills and some fun. Realistically I'll end up doing directing, editing or something as a career, but IF my YouTube took off, I'd focus on it, since I love it sooooo much. :)
yea you are at a good age to do youtube your fans can grow with you. I really like your point of view.

Awesome! What kind of books do you like to write? I write popculture fantasy mystery novels. :D[DOUBLEPOST=1374161499,1374161416][/DOUBLEPOST]
YouTube isn't even my plan. But if my channel ever kicks off then hey, extra money!

Whats your plan if youtube isnt it?

I never really considered YouTube as an career since all the red tape, the hoops to jump, it may be just easier to get a day job or minimum wage job instead. Now of course those that made it big on YouTube would say otherwise, but then again, not everyone can make it big on YouTube (which is pretty much the vast majority of YouTubers, including I.); otherwise everyone would be rolling in the dough by just uploading...

For me, I just do YouTube as a hobby and also for sharing my talent with the rest of the world. :P

I don't ever see YouTube ever paying me more than my current job, so it's not a thought for me. Besides, it seems incredibly unstable income to actual revolve your lifestyle around.

I'm just happy right now it's being a portfolio and getting me gigs at conventions and private shoots. So if YouTube never gets any bigger at least I can still do videos and photos as press. Then if that fails, I'll just find a new hobby to funnel money into haha.

That's awesome! ^__^
I mostly write in first-person, and my favourite genre's to write are horror, thriller, fantasy and sometimes magical.
I also love to write Dark Fairytales.
I usually write in first person as well it helps to really connect with the character.

I can agree with that but then again thats usually how a youtube career starts as a hobby.

Thats cool you are using youtube to get money through another means even if its not paid through youtube directly.

I'm still only fourteen, and my channel's still relatively small (430 or so subscribers) so I can't say much, haha.

My life ambition was and still is to become a successful acoustic musician. I've focused a lot more on it during the past three years through vocal coaching, and self-teaching myself the guitar, ukulele, and a few other instruments. I feel like music today is sort of hanging by a thread (totally not cheesy) and is plagued by the majority of mainstream artists, and that not enough people are keeping it alive anymore.

It's funny because I've been too nervous to begin uploading music covers on my channel, so I began vlogging as a stalling method but it turns out it drew in quite a few subscribers.

My goal now is to become a YouTube musician and develop an independent career.

You are doing really well for just doing it for 5 months. Ive been going for 9 and only at 60. Keep it up man! If you want to be nudged into doing covers make a video upload it as pivate and send the link to a couple of ytt members. You can get good feedback and see if you want to make it public from there. Its just a suggestion but I think just uploading it for you is better your fans may like it they may not but you never know until you do it.

YouTube is my backup plan.

Lol this was the same reply I had.

I work full-time and I see YouTube as something that could potentially allow me to shorten my hours (one day) and continue sharing what I know with others. That along with a few other passions I have and would one day like to teach (outside of youtube).

That is actually a really good idea. I think I will do that over the next few weeks!

Thanks for the compliments and for the suggestion!
