How long roughly does it take for you to edit the average video? As a cinematographer and regular vlog styled video creator, i tend to dabble in multiple time issues. Atm i am working on a skit for my second channel and this in itself will take me around 3 days to edit without me even taping anything yet, just CGI.

If you do gaming videos, is the bulk of your editing, searching for the actual content weithin the hour long recording? or is it editing the actual content? Very curious.
 
I would say the total amount of time I spend on editing, both video and audio, per video ranges from 1.5 - 3 hours. However that doesn't take into account time spent writing, recording, SEO, promoting, etc...
 
I do gaming videos and it takes about 2-3 hours to edit a video. The longest part is finding the good clips for my montages. But I'm planning on making commentaries which wnt take that long to edit since it's one clip and not cut together from 30-40 clips.
 
I usually take anywhere from 6-12 hours - over a period of several days. Gotta take those breaks ~ Mostly do gaming funny videos. Just finished my 5th one, haven't rendered though.[DOUBLEPOST=1473317670,1473317614][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yea, finding great parts from gaming sessions is hard. Sometimes I remember to immediately note my videos, other times I just end up playing another one and totally forget which one it was. Haha.. I'm with you about it.
 
I usually spend anywhere from 8-15 hours. And I would consider myself a pretty fast editor. It depends on if I'm trying new techniques/how much motion graphics I need to do. Looking for SFX and Music can take a while for me sometimes too.
 
I make gaming funny moments, which usually entails music, sound effects, animation and jump cuts. So the range would be like 2 to 12 hours to edit a video. Depending on how much editing the video calls for.
 
For me, it really depends on the type of game I'm playing and what type of video I'm trying to make. Compilations take me a lot longer to edit, I think my trailer took me about 4-6 hours. Short, silly games don't take as long for me since there's a lot packed into a short game, and there are a lot more funny moments that I don't have to edit out. I did some videos on a few itch.io games that only took me about a hour to edit for example. That's just for let's plays, videos like the ones on Game Theory would take much MUCH longer to edit.
 
I just do little travel vlogs.. and it takes me at least 8-10 hours I think. I think my biggest issue is that I film too much in general, so I'm having to go through three hours of footage and cut it down to >10mins.

It's really cool that you do CGI.. I'm going to check it out on your channel. Is it hard to do?
 
I do travel and lifestyle vlogs and it takes me roughly 2 to 4 hours. Much of that is cutting down on footage. Then there is placing wording and music where I want it. Sometimes a lot faster, but that's only if I have my music decided ahead of time and have minimal additional things to add.
