Would uploading your videos to Vimeo be positive for your youtube videos?

Are there other options to Vimeo that you have experience with?
 
Vimeo is mainly for film makers while YouTube is for EVERYTHING. So if you are going to upload to Vimeo, then I would make sure my video was an actual film or movie.

It certainly wouldn't be negative putting your video on vimeo, it wont hurt so why not. As for other alternate websites there is daily motion but no site has the backing or popularity that Youtube has.

But you can't upload/link your youtube videos, they have to be raw (mpeg, etc) right?
