Would This New Channel Idea For Let's Plays Be A Good Idea?

Let's Player
Okay, so I just want some advice on whether or not you guys would find this entertaining. I've had the idea of making my channel a co-op channel, but for solo Let's Plays. As in, I play some game by myself (Wind Waker, Last of Us, etc.), but have a co-commentator with me the whole series. The catch is, the commentator will not be the same for every series. Each series will feature someone new. Of course, I'll have some recurring guests, but there'll be a variety of people. Would you guys think this would be an idea that works?

Good idea, but as the people above me said, it may be a bit hard to do what you are planning. Good Luck though :D.

It's a cool idea however its going to be hard for two people to record all the time and at the same time :p

It's an interesting idea, but adding onto what Kate said you'll have to try and find commentators in the same (or similar) timezones to avoid late night/early morning recordings. :p

Yeah, you have a point. My plan for this though was to give people certain series based on time zone differences and amount of free time they have. Somebody that has a lot of free time, we can do a longer one. If they don't have a lot of free time though (I understand people have lives and their own channels), we would just do a shorter, 3-5 part project.

I think it's a pretty good idea. Hopefully you can arrange something where your co-commentator can also watch the game as you're playing.

Yup, we've already worked that out! I'm able to stream it to them through Skype screenshare, or if it ends up being postcommentated I can send them the video link. So I've worked out this ordeal.

Right, my biggest concern primarily is just finding people that would want to do this. But so far I've been able to find a good amount of people, and as long as they're able to stick around the whole series this should be able to work short-term!

Well good to know that you have found some people already :).

It definitely sounds like a good idea in theory, just make sure you have a good flow with your commentators. You don't want to have awkward pauses due to a lack of common humors.

Sounds interesting!

But you'd have to think about each others time and schedules. you can't just record at will, whenever, you'd have to make sure each other are available.
