Would partnering up with another YouTuber help

Fairly new to this,
Just throwing it out there.
If you post gaming videos, would finding someone who posts the same content as you and 'teaming up' together be a decent idea?

For example
If both of you play fifa 14, would recording the gameplay of you two playing each other and the posting it on YouTube be a good idea? Obviously you would have to come up with an idea to make it stand out.

Ive been thinking about it and would it attract more people, because your getting each others Subscribers watching the video, and you could always 'promote' the partner in your other videos. Suppose it would be a way forward for channel growth.
But, how would you go about the actual video?
Would only one of you be able to post the video?
 
It's probably one of the best ways to expand your audience. The both of you could promote each other so that when one channel grows, the other will too. Plus it makes great entertainment seeing someone play with another person.
 
It could certainly be good cause you're sharing an audience, but what would be better is doing many collabs with many different gamers. If you stick with one other person then once you have gained all the subs from each other's channels you're gonna gain you're back to just natural growth between the two of you, collab with many many people and you keep gaining a little of this person's audience and that person's audience etc etc
 
I think the best practice for this is (well firstly yes defo colab as it can majorly increase growth)
1. when colabing make enough content for both tubers to upload something
2. be sure to promote each other in the video and in the description.
3. make them a familiar face, dont just colab once and move on. that could look like you were only in it for the subs, if you have fun with them then keep it up as it always reflects in your videos

to be honest most of the people i watch on youtube i find from other youtubers. i started off subbed to maybe 10 folk i knew about. and im now subbed to over 100 folk .. colabing helps ... a lot :)
 
Popular strategies that might work for you
1. A phony war of words (some pre build up fighting talk) The public challenge with a dare involved and a forfeit for the looser
2. An Away game for one of you, opportunity to do travelling with footie scarf shot on unusual vehicle
3. The other one plays an away game
4. If required the decider perhaps with a third Vlogger as Referee?
5. The stunt forfeit dare vlog with the winner commentating and the looser for example "cleaning all your local football teams boots while the winner has a drink with the team" you might even let the looser in just as everyone goes...
6. Perhaps the making up vlogs when its all over or the continuing feud theme
