With the expected seasonal CPM normalizing...

I Love YTtalk
Do you change your uploading strategy?
If you have any big video projects that could get lots of views, do you wait until CPMs increase?

I used December as a monetization trial-run (with adsense) to get an idea of the numbers. I was pleasantly surprised and obviously now am seeing a decrease in January.

So for me, I will just get back to the grind of uploading good content and build up my daily views for when the CPM increases again. So no specific strategy change, but the decrease has served to motivate me to work harder at what I'm already doing :)

Slow and steady! Got to keep the audience engaged so that they are still there when the seasons change! I'll continue to post regularly and won't hold back content -- getting subscribers now will have value then too. If you don't, someone more interesting is going to take their attention away from you.[DOUBLEPOST=1388968337,1388967687][/DOUBLEPOST]By the way, just visited your channel and I actually think we could do a very good collaboration. I'm guessing we've got some family watching overlap. If you see the same overlap, let me know. I could see creating a hot wheels inspired car bracelet out of rubber bands to send for you to show in a video, and I can show the car that inspired the bracelet in mine with a link to your channel... Let me know if that interests you at all in this season of audience building :)

I don't pay attention to CPMs when it comes to big projects. I get them done and put them up when they're ready-the attention they get will make up for the lower pay and lead to more big projects/collaborations, so there's no sense in holding back.

Not really.
Most of our semi-viral videos bacame semi-viral weeks and months after uploading.
YouTube algorithm knows best when to motenize (make viral) as well as to de-monetize (remove a virality of a video).
At lest thats the case with our channel.

I'm so sorry, could you define viral and monetize for me?
I am struggling to make sense of them in this context.

In this context I used viral as equivalent to monetized. Obviously you can monetize any video but unless it has at least 30-100 (or 1000) views per day for weeks and months the revenue of this video will be symbolic or 0.
Sorry - I was not very clear in my previous post.
