Win8.1 Laptop doesn't recognize Elgato Audio

Hey guys,

at the moment I'm really desperate because I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Because Fraps needs too much ressources I'm using my elgato game capture HD. So I connected it with HDMI and USB and there is the first problem:
  • my Laptop (maybe that's the problem?) doesn't recognise the Elgato as an Audio device so I can't get the audio from hdmi but the S-Video cable
next problem is:
  • when I connect my laptop to the S-Video cable I have to do it like this: 3,5mm plug to 2x 3,5mm socket connected with my headphones and a 3,5mm plug to 2x RCA (the red and white audio thingy) which is connected with the elgato

and there it happens: I got weird noises either when it's silent, when I move my mouse (!!!) or when sound is playing. The elgato is capturing it and the recording becomes useless as SH#T!

I just don't know what to do...is the internal soundcard of the Laptop too bad? Is it the Elgato?

Or can someone just tell me how my Laptop will recognise this piece of crap over hdmi?

Please help I want to record on the weekend and I didn't even find a solution on google...:help:

I wouldnt say its an issue with the computer. It sounds like a probable issue of how its being connected together. If its picking up a weird noise when you move the mouse or when its silent it seems the mic or what ever is recording the audio is very sensitive and picking up even the most slightest of noise. If you have a mic I would suggest as a fail safe to record the sound seperately and maybe increase the sensitivity slightly to pick up the game a bit more when you play. That way you can still record your reactions as well if needed
 
Okay so now I just gave up on recording the audio with analogue (the quality will never be THAT good).

BUT I tried with the HDMI and the only thing I found out was when I connect my Laptop directly to the monitor it shows up in the sound settings and it just works fine. But when I put the Elgato between these two there's nothing showing up at all...

and the strange thing is that it shows up when connected with the win7 laptop...I have no clue what to do, because I updated all my relevant drivers (NVidia, Intel Graphics, Realtek) and it still doesn't work!

So now you could say: why not just record with the win7 laptop? Well, it's not mine and I really want to get behind this problem but I'm personally out of ideas. So that's where I need you guys!
