Will First Person Shooters Ever Die?

COD will definitely die out eventually, but i believe first person shooters will always be around and be a huge part of gaming like they are now. the reign of COD will end but i predict it will be replaced by a new FPS franchise. But that's just my theory!
 
The FPS genre has been around since 1992 (Wolfenstein) and people find FPS still funny.

It's actually a perfect way to play a game regardless if you're shooting a gun or swinging a big badass sword. Virtual reality like Oculus Rift will make it even bigger.

but then again it depends what you put in the word FPS, only COD/Battlefield like games?
because Minecraft is in a sense a FPS too.
